Estimates risk of major bleeding for patients on anticoagulation to assess risk-benefit in atrial fibrillation care
  • Congestive Heart Failure
  • Hypertension (sBP > 140 mmgHg or on Rx)
  • Age >= 75 (+2)
  • Diabetes
  • Stroke or prior TIA (+2)
  • Vascular Disease (Prior AMI, PVD, AAA or repair)
  • Age 64-74 years
  • Female Gender
  • Uncontrolled hypertension (sBP > 160)
  • Renal Disease (Dialysis, Creatinine > 200, eGFR < 50)
  • Liver Disease (Bilirubin > 2xULN, AST or ALT > 3xULN)
  • Stroke History
  • Prior major bleedng
  • Labile INR
  • Age > 65
  • Medication usage predisposing to bleeding (ASA, Clopidigrel, NSAIDs)
  • Alcohol use (> 8U per week)
